Djoko Pekik (2 January 1937 – 12 August 2023). He was an Indonesian painter renowned for his realist-expressive style that often addressed social and political themes. Djoko was affiliated with the Lembaga Kebudayaan Rakyat (LEKRA), a cultural organization linked to the Indonesian Communist Party. Following the political upheaval of 1965, he was imprisoned without trial from 1965 to 1972 due to his association with LEKRA
